Establish a goal of bringing a cure to market as soon as possible or before 2023.<ul><li>Establish specific funding stream for HSV treatment research projects (treatment and vaccine) with a focus on projects with commercial viability<\/li><\/ul><ul><li>Establish NIH grants funding for qualifying HSV research initiatives in the private sector<\/li><\/ul><\/li><\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-buttons is-layout-flex wp-block-buttons-is-layout-flex\">\n<div class=\"wp-block-button\"><a class=\"wp-block-button__link\" href=\"https:\/\/herpescureadvocacy.com\/2021\/10\/16\/new-hsv-advocates-a-starters-guide-to-activism\/\">Advocate for NIH Funding for a Herpes Cure!<\/a><\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n<hr class=\"wp-block-separator\" \/>\n\n\n\n<h1 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"herpes-simplex-virus-prevention\">Herpes Simplex Virus Prevention<\/h1>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"center-for-disease-control-cdc\">Center for Disease Control (CDC)<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Herpes Simplex Virus is the largest STI globally with no cure &#8211; yet the least spoken about by the CDC. Their policy, recommended by United States Preventative Services Task Force, for not testing or tracking HSV indicates an apathy to spread rather than the strategy of prevention that the public deserves. People deserve to know if they have a chronic infection and also to be protected from partners who don\u2019t know they are a carrier. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Goals for advocacy include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\"><li>US government funding for the Center for Disease Control earmarked specifically for the Sexually Transmitted Disease department to recruit and establish an HSV task force (comprised of CDC staff, volunteer field experts and patient advocates) to be assembled immediately.
