Here are some of our recent accomplishments<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>2021<\/strong>: U.S. Congress includes a National Strategy and Strategic Plan for the Cure, Treatment, and Prevention of Herpes in the federal budget.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>January 2022<\/strong>: Herpes Cure Advocacy (HCA) establishes itself as a tax-exempt 501(c)(3) non-profit organization in the USA.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>November 2022<\/strong>: HCA co-hosts a joint CDC\/NIH Workshop focused on herpes research and strategy.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>December 2022<\/strong>: CDC issues a Request for Applications (RFA) for the development of improved HSV serology tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>April 2023:<\/strong>&nbsp;The NIH forms a Multi-Council Working Group to coordinate efforts for a strategic approach to herpes research and treatment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>2023:<\/strong>&nbsp;NIH releases a comprehensive 5-year research strategy to advance herpes simplex virus (HSV) studies.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>December 2023<\/strong>: Based on clinical and lab data provided by HCA, the FDA issues a safety communication regarding the limitations of herpes simplex virus antibody tests.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1\"><strong>February 2024:&nbsp;<\/strong>The Office of the Assistant Secretary of Health releases a draft addendum to the National STI Strategy addressing herpes, with the final version published in&nbsp;<strong>November 2024<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.1\"><strong>Ongoing:&nbsp;<\/strong>HCA has successfully advocated for the CDC to assess the burden of neonatal herpes, initiating steps toward making it a nationally notifiable condition.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"line-height:1.1\">These milestones reflect our ongoing commitment to advancing herpes research, improving public health measures, and moving closer to a cure.<\/p>\n<\/details>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px;line-height:1\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Transparency and Dedication<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px;line-height:1\"><a href=\"https:\/\/herpescureadvocacy.com\/board\/\" data-type=\"page\" data-id=\"3766\">Our Board of Directors<\/a> are dedicated volunteers who are committed to our cause.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:20px;line-height:1\"><strong><span style=\"text-decoration: underline;\">Make a Difference Today<\/span><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\" style=\"font-size:18px;line-height:1\">Your donation, no matter the amount, makes a real impact.
