Basic research in the lab focuses on the development of a novel vaccine candidate that protects against HSV-1 and HSV-2 in multiple rigorous small animal models by eliciting antibodies that provide sterilizing protection through antibody-dependent killing. The lab is also developing monoclonal antibodies to treat and prevent HSV.
