Dr. Keith Jerome shares updates on HSV 1 & HSV 2, notes “fatalism” surrounding the diagnosis, says that there is “not a cure yet” but “we are getting closer to a cure.” Dr. Keith Jerome’s lab is making progress enough to say that their gene editing technique has “reduced the virus by 90%” in other words, their treatment eliminated up to 90% of the virus, however he is going for “99% to 99.9%” as Dr. Jerome says, “we are always improving this, 10-15 years ago we started down this path, started talking about a cure for herpes simplex infections, people thought we were crazy.”
